Odisha: Debt-ridden Couple Commits Suicide In Puri

Puri: Police on Thursday recovered the bodies of a couple, found hanging from the ceiling of a room at Anlajodi Uparsahi under Kanas block of Puri district.

The deceased have been identified as Banambar Behera and his wife Banita Behera.

The locals suspect it was a case of suicide, as the couple had taken a loan from a private finance company and were unable to repay it. Reports said that some staff of the finance company came to the couple’s house last evening for installment money.

However, they were unable to repay the amount following which they allegedly committed suicide.

Further investigation is underway into the matter.
