Overburdened by Loans to Repay Online Games Losses, Jajpur Youth Ends Life

Jajpur: Stressed by the burden of loans taken to pay up online game losses, a youth committed suicide at Kadubani village under the Kaliapani police station limits of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday night.

The deceased identified as Srinivasa alias Lincoln (22) worked as a contractual worker in a private mining firm. On Monday morning his family members found him hanging in his room.

According to reports, Srinivas had lost several lakhs of rupees playing the ‘Daman’ game on his mobile phone. He had taken loans from several persons through his mother to pay up. It is alleged that he ended his life when the moneylenders pressed him to repay the loans.

Police are investigang the reason that led to the suicide of the youth and are also checking his bank account and recent transactions.
