New Delhi: A fine of Rs 30 lakh was imposed on Air India by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in relation to the urination incident on a New York-New Delhi flight on November 26, 2022.
The DGCA also suspended the aviation regulator has also suspended the licence of the pilot-in-command of this Air India flight for a period of three months. Air India’s director of in-flight service was also fined Rs 3 lakh.
On November 26, 2022, a man named Shankar Mishra allegedly urinated on an elderly woman in the business class of Air India’s New York-Delhi flight. It is alleged that Mishra was drunk at the time of the incident.
Shankar Mishra has been arrested and he is now in judicial custody.
