Urination Horror Repeat: Drunken Man Arrested for Peeing in Public at Delhi’s IGI Airport

New Delhi: Peeing horror continues to worry the aviation sector in India. A man was nabbed by police while he was urinating publically in front of departure gate 6 at IGI Airport T3 on Jan 8.

This passenger was to take a flight from Delhi to Dammam.

The man was identified as Jauhar Ali Khan. According to eyewitnesses Khan seemed to be inebriated. He also abused other passengers, who objected to his public peeing.

He was arrested and later released on a bail bond, said Delhi Police.

Recently similar objectionable behavior that happened on December 6 was reported. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued another notice to Air India for two incidents onboard  December 6 flight AI-142 from Paris to Delhi. On this flight, a passenger smoked inside the toilet and another one allegedly peed over a woman’s blanket.

A show cause notice has been served to the airline for not reporting the incident until January 5, 2023.

A male passenger, Shankar Mishra, had allegedly urinated on a woman co-passenger in her 70s in the business class of the Air India flight from New York to Delhi on November 26 last year.

Air India’s handling of an incident in which an inebriated male flier allegedly urinated on a woman co-passenger suggests an urgent need for stricter rules to deal with unruly passengers, according to legal and aviation experts.
