PhD Scholar Dies In Mishap Inside IIT-Bhubaneswar Campus

Bhubaneswar: A PhD scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, died after a crane deployed in construction work on the campus located on the outskirts of Jatni ran him over on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Abhinandan Panda. He was married and residing in a mess in Jatni.

According to reports, Panda was reportedly walking home after finishing his class when the crane ran him over.

The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Upon being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation in this regard.
