Quack’s Wrong Injection Kills 6-Yr-Old in Jajpur Dist

Jajpur: A 6-year-old boy died after a quack allegedly administered a ‘wrong injection’ at Mugapada village under Dasarathpur police station in Jajpur district on Tuesday.

The deceased Omm Mallick, son of Surendra Mallick, was suffering from diarrhea. His family members took him to a medicine store owned by Mitu Pati at Mandrakhand square.

The shop owner allegedly administered two injections without any doctor’s prescription. Following it the child became unconscious.

He was rushed to the Jajpur district headquarters hospital (DHH), where doctors declared him dead.

The medicine shop owner absconded following this incident. The family members of the ill-fated boy lodged a complaint at Dashrathpur police station alleging that medicine shop owner was responsible for the death of the child.
