Killer Husband Sleeps Beside Dead Wife for Night in Balasore Dist

Balasore: After killing his wife on Monday night, a man preferred to sleep beside her dead body overnight in Chalanti village under Jaleswar police limits of Odisha’s Balasore district.

Neighbours came to know about his gruesome act only when his minor daughter, who is a witness to the crime, informed all.

The accused identified as Arjun Pandapat of Chalanti village has been taken into custody by police.

He was married to Lily Dandapat, who he was allegedly harassing regularly. On Monday night, the couple had a heated argument and Arjun attacked Lily with a knife in the presence of his family members. Lily died on the spot.

But his family members did not inform anyone about it. Arjun seemed to be unperturbed even after committing the murder. He preferred to sleep beside his wife’s dead body throughout the night.

However, his daughter informed the neighbours about the incident. Getting information about the murder from the neighbours, personnel of Jaleswar police station reached the spot and arrested Arjun. The body of the deceased was sent for autopsy.
