Question Paper Leak Rumour & Fake Info; CBSE Issues Notice to Clarify and Take Action

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday released a notice to initiate strict action against those spreading rumours and fake news about the board exams. The annual board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 2023 conducted by the CBSE are underway from February 15 to April 5 in more than 7250 exam centres across India and 26 countries abroad.

“It has come to the notice of the Board that certain unscrupulous elements are regularly spreading rumours on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms about paper leak or claiming to have access to question papers of 2023 exams,” the CBSE notice stated.

“These persons, groups and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities create confusion and panic among the students and public,” the notice added.

According to CBSE, the board is regularly informing Delhi Police Special Cell for stern action under various provisions of IPC and IT Act against persons involved in circulating fake news using social media platforms.

CBSE authorities requested parents to guide their wards not to believe in such rumours and not indulge in any such activity which hampers the smooth conduct of board examinations.

The CBSE notice requested the public to maintain the sanctity of the board exams and not spread fake information.
