Naba Das’ Assassination Was ‘Planned Murder’, People Not Happy With CBI Probe: Tara

Bhubaneswar: Even though weeks have passed since the gruesome killing of Health Minister Naba Das, the Crime Branch is yet to make any headway in the case. However, the allegations by the Opposition Congress have further heated up the political landscape.

Adding fuel to the ongoing political slugfest, senior Congress MLA Tara Bahinipati rakes up Naba Das murder case during zero hour & terms it a planned murder.

Speaking to media persons on Monday, Bahinipati said, “Crime Branch probe is an eyewash. Now the probe is confined to find out whether Gopal Das is mentally sound. Nothing is being done to find out why he killed the minister.”

“People are not happy with the ongoing investigation by the Crime Branch. So far the ongoing investigation is only limited to finding out whether the accused and dismissed Assistant Sub-Inspector Das is mentally unstable or not,” he said.

On the other hand, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja alleged that even so many days after the brutal murder of Naba Das, the hands of the Crime Branch are empty as there is still a mystery whether the killing was due to political or business rivalry.

Saluja further stated there seems to be a dispute between the groups of late minister Naba Das and Bhatli MLA Sushant Singh. Hence, Bhatli MLA should also be brought under the purview of the ongoing investigation and the government should order a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
