Now Babus Rule Odisha, Not People’s Representatives: LoP Mishra

Bhubaneswar: In his recent attack on the BJD-led Odisha government on Monday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra put his remark over BJD MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik’s statement.

Mishra’s criticism to the government came after Khandapada MLA said, “It’s now tough to meet CMs.” Patnaik also said that there are super ministers who are above the ministers.

Taking a dig at the Odisha government, LoP Mishra said today,” We are still in shock as we really don’t know who is the actual government in Odisha. Not only as opposition parties, but ruling party MLAs are also questioning the same.

“Are the bureaucrats super powerful than the ministers or there are secretaries who are pretending to be the super CMs? The govt is dependent on consultants,” said Mishra.

“Ruling party MLAs are not getting a chance to meet their CM and the officers are ruling Odisha not the people’s representatives. Now it is a clear turf that Babus are having actual power in a democracy,” added Mishra.
