LoP Jayanarayan Mishra Accuses BJD of Conspiring To Kill Him

Bhubaneswar: Political slugfest continues to catalyse the trade of barbs within Odisha’s ruling BJD and opposition BJP after the scuffle took place between Jayanarayan Mishra and a lady police officer on Wednesday.

While Mishra accused BJD of conspiring against him to kill, the conch party has demanded the saffron party leader’s resignation from the LoP post.

Amidst the row, Mishra said, “When I started raking up the brutal assassination of health minister Naba Das, the BJD started to take action including attacks on me.”

According to Mishra, he was staying at the circuit house for the past several days after suffering a fracture in his leg. “On getting information, BJD goons had visited the spot and ransacked the property. Had I been at the spot, one can easily imagine what could have happened to me,” alleged Mishra today.

The LoP further said that instead of going after him, they (BJD) goons should ask CM Naveen Patnaik to take action against him.

“I believe they (BJD goons) had come to eliminate me and it is a conspiracy by the ruling party to kill me as I have been bringing several issues and misgovernance to the limelight,” Mishra added.

Following the alleged altercation between Mishra and Dhanupali IIC Anitarani Pradhan, state ruling BJD demanded the LoP’s removal on Wednesday.

Addressing a press meeting, BJD Spokesperson Shreemayee Mishra demanded the removal of Jaynarayan Mishra as Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly for allegedly assaulting and misbehaving with a woman police officer in Sambalpur.

A video of the saffron leader assaulting the lady cop is doing rounds on social media. he BJP veteran, who has a knack for landing himself right in the soup, however, denied having manhandled the woman cop.
