Rahul’s Rally in Karnataka’s Kolar on April 5; Where He Gave ‘Modi Surname’ Remark in 2019

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address an election campaign rally in Karnataka’s Kolar on April 5, ahead of the assembly polls in the state. His ‘Modi Surname’ remark at an election campaign speech in  Kolar in 2019 recently got him convicted in a criminal defamation case along with disqualification as an MP.

Dates for voting for the Karnataka Assembly election and the counting of votes were announced on Wednesday. Votes will be cast on May 10 and counting will take place on May 13.

Top BJP leaders have already started visiting poll-bound Karnataka to hold rallies and roadshows. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Karnataka eight times since January. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has toured the state nine times this year.

Local leaders of Congress, including Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, are spearheading the Congress’s election campaign in Karnataka.
