Rahul’s 2nd Day in Manipur, Visits Relief Camps in Moirang

Imphal: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi travelled to Moirang in the Bishnupur district of Manipur on Friday to visit relief camps operating for riot victims in the town, reported ABP News.

Besides visiting the relief camps, he also met local intellectuals and civil society representatives in Imphal, said Congress party sources.

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps in Churachandpur, which is one of the worst affected towns in the ethnic violence continuing in Manipur for the past two months.

His convoy was stopped at Bishnupur by the local police, fearing the carcade may face attacks. This effort of local police was criticized by the Congress leaders.  Rahul Gandhi had to fly back to Churachandpur by helicopter.

The Congress leader is on a two-day visit to ethnic violence hit Manipur.
