Railway Minister Reveals Electronic Interlocking Root Cause Of Odisha Train Tragedy

Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday revealed the root cause of the three-train accident in Odisha’s Balasore has been identified.

According to reports, the minister, who was present at the accident site to oversee the restoration work, said that it happened due to a change in electronic interlocking. Right now our focus is on restoration,” the minister added.

According to Indian Railways, an electronic Interlocking (EI) system is a microprocessor-based interlocking equipment to read the yard and panel inputs; process them in a fail-safe manner as per the selection table and generate the required output.
