Roopchand of Bihar is Husband of 40 Women; Amazing Revelation during Caste Census

Patna: It may sound unbelievable, but enumerators of Bihar’s caste census have found that a man named Roopchand is the husband of 40 women. These women are inhabitants of a red-light area in Bihar’s Arwal district.

All these 40 women have declared that Roopchand is their husband. Even the children of these women named Roopchand as their father to the caste census officials, reported India Today.

These women living in the red-light area sing and dance to make a living. It is believed that as they are not legally married to any person, all of them have preferred to name their husbands Roopchand.

The caste-based census process of the Nitish Kumar government started in Bihar on January 7.
