Sambalpur Communal Violence: Youth Killed Over Hanuman Jayanti Enmity

Sambalpur: A youth was allegedly beaten to death by some miscreants during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

The youth was identified as Chandra Mirdha, a resident of Sinharigram under Burla police station limits.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Chandra was coming to participate in the Hanuman Jayanthi procession. Sambalpur SP B Gangadhar had said that it was a communal murder but later it was confirmed that the crime was a result of personal enmity.

Reportedly, the police have arrested six people in connection with this murder case and prosecuted them.
