Satyapal Malik’s Dharna at Delhi Police Station a Day after CBI Summon in a Corruption Case

New Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik sat on dharna at a police station in Delhi on Saturday following an argument with the Delhi Police.

A day back CBI sent a summon to him in a corruption case. According to Delhi, Malik was holding a meeting at a park without necessary, following which he was questioned. Taking to Twitter, Delhi Police confirmed that Satya Pal Malik was not detained.

Meanwhile, the CBI has asked Malik to answer certain queries in connection with an alleged insurance scam in the Union Territory. Satyapal Malik was governor of Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and Meghalaya.

The CBI summon follows Malik’s interview to “The Wire”, in which he made critical remarks about the BJP-led Centre, especially regarding its handling of Jammu and Kashmir. In this interview he blamed the Modi government for the Pulwama incident.

“I have exposed the sins of some people by speaking the truth. Maybe that’s why I have been called. I am the son of a farmer, I will not panic. I stand by the truth,” he said in a tweet in Hindi with the hashtag #CBI.
