Shocking: 20-Month-Old Girl Raped by Neighbour in Mumbai

Mumbai: In a shocking inhuman incident, a 20-month-old baby girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in central Mumbai.

The incident came to the fore only when the parents of the child lodged a complaint against their neighbour on Sunday.

The aggrieved family lives in a tenement. As per their complaint, their 20-month-old daughter was raped by their 35-year-old neighbour. He resorted to this inhuman crime when her parents were away.

Parents came to know about the plight of their daughter when she kept crying and complaining about severe pain.

Police have registered a case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the arrested accused. An investigation is on.
