New Parliament Building to Host Special Session of Parliament Today

New Delhi: On the second day, the special Session of Parliament will commence in the new Parliament building. The proceeding of both houses will start at the New Parliament Building on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi after the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Lok Sabha will assemble in the new building at 1.15 PM, while the Rajya Sabha will meet at 2.15 PM.

Earlier in the morning, all the Members of Parliament joined at the Central Hall of the old Parliament House for a joint group photograph Session. Afterwards, a function was held to commemorate the rich legacy of the Parliament of India and resolve to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047.

During this historic move to shift both of the Houses of Parliament to the new building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, it is a very emotional moment to bid farewell to the old Parliament building. He said the old building will keep on inspiring the coming generation as it is a golden chapter of the journey of Indian democracy. He said that the nation has witnessed countless incidents related to the creation of New India in the 75-year-old history of this Parliament House.
