STF Seizes Brown Sugar Worth Rs. 1.3 Cr, Two Arrested

Cuttack: The Special Task Force of Crime Branch seized 1.335 kg of brown sugar worth Rs 1.3 crore in Odisha’s Cuttack district. They seized it near Ansupa lake under Cuttack Banki police station. The STF also arrested two smugglers.

The accused were identified as Jumesh Kumar Sahoo of Chendipada and Hemant Kumar Pradhan of Athagarh.

According to sources,  the Special Task Force and Cuttack Sadar police conducted a raid near Ansupa lake under Banki police limits on Saturday. During the raid, they found brown sugar weighing 1.33 kg was seized from their possession along with a car and other incriminating materials.

The accused were booked under Sections 21(c)and 29 of NDPS Act 1985 and forwarded to the court, the STF said.
