Superstitious Relatives Allegedly Kill An Aged Man On Suspicion of ‘Sorcery’ Practice

 

Udala: An aged person was murdered by his own superstitious relatives, who suspected him to be performing sorcery at Sarajamadihi village of Udala block under Khunta police station in Mayurbhanj district.

According to Khunta police sources, he was killed on Friday night. The deceased Thunguru Singh, was alone at home when the assailants attacked him.

His family members, who had gone to watch a football match at the village ground, found the body of Thunguru in a pool of blood when they returned back home. They have alleged before the police that Thunguru’s dispute with his nephews may be the reason behind his murder.

Thunguru’s nephews used to allege that he was involved in sorcery practice, which was bringing ill luck to them.

Meanwhile, police have rounded up the two nephews for interrogation. Seized body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. Investigation is on to ascertain the real reason behind the murder.
