Truck Driver Burnt Alive as Two Trucks Catch Fire After Collision in Mayurbhanj District

Bhubaneswar:  A truck driver was burnt alive on Thursday morning when his vehicle met with an accident with an oil tanker on the National Highway No 49 at Bangiriposhi Ghat in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The other driver was seriously injured.

The oil tanker and the container truck involved in the accident fell into a 20-foot gorge on Bangiriposhi ghat. Following the collision, the oil tanker caught fire and its driver was charred to death as he could not come out of the burning vehicle.

Firefighters from Bisoi and Bangiriposhi rushed to the spot to douse the fire and recover the body of the driver.

Both the trucks were travelling towards Baripada from Keonjhar through Bangiriposhi ghat.
