Truck Hits Bullock Cart Killing a Couple

Deogarh: A couple died following a road mishap on NH-49 near Tileibani Chhak in Odisha’s Deogarh. Reportedly, a truck collided with a bullock cart leading to death of the duo.

The deceased were identified as Sarat Sahu and his wife Visakha from Asurkhol village.

According to sources, Sarat Sahu and his wife were on their way to the field to collect the harvested produce, when a speeding truck hit their bullock cart from behind. The couple died on the spot. One of the bullocks was also killed. Another one was critically injured.

The driver and helper of the truck managed to flee from the spot. After getting information about the accident, locals gathered at the spot and blocked the road demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.

Due to the road blockade, the movement of vehicles on the road was disrupted.

The local police stated that a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
