New Zealand Reclaim Top Spot In ODI Rankings

Dubai: Following their 3-0 series loss to Australia, England dropped to No. 2 in the most recent ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, which were revealed on Wednesday. New Zealand now holds the top spot. The reigning ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup champions experienced a heavy smashing at the hands of Australia, which meant that within 10 days of winning the T20 World Cup 2022, they lost their position atop the ODI standings.

After losing the first two ODIs by six wickets and 71 runs, respectively, England suffered a brutal defeat by 221 runs (D/L method) in the third ODI on Tuesday.

New Zealand reclaimed the top spot in the ODI Team rankings table after having lost it to England in September this year.

England was comfortably in the lead before the series began with 119 rating points, five more than New Zealand. But after three straight losses, they dropped six points and eventually stand behind New Zealand (114) with 113.
