UK-Based Khalistani Leader Dies; Was Handler of Separatist Amritpal

New Delhi: UK-based chief of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) Avtar Singh Khanda has died. He was the main handler of Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh.

Khanda had helped Amritpal to dodge the police for 37 days in March and April.

Some rumours claim Khanda was poisoned. But as per medical records say he was suffering from blood cancer.

Khanda was a bomb making expert. He masterminded the pulling down of the Indian flag from the UK High Commission in London on March 19. Khanda is the son of slain KLF terrorist Kulwant Singh. He went to the UK in 2007 on a study visa and took asylum there in 2012.

Khanda was heading the KLF under the code name ‘Ranjodh Singh’ following the death of former KLF chief Harmeet Singh in Pakistan in January 2020.

He played a key role in instaling Amritpal Singh as the head of Waris Punjab De after the death of Deep Sidhu.

Amritpal surrendered bfore the police at a gurdwara in Punjab’s Moga on April 23. He is now lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act.
