Vigilance Nabs Excise Inspector While Accepting Bribe in Puri  

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths set a trap and arrested excise Mobile Inspector Sanjay Kumar Panda, while he was accepting a bribe worth Rs 18,000 in Puri on Wednesday. The arrested excise inspector had demanded this bribe to prepare a case diary.

The arrested excise mobile inspector is the same excise official, who had come up with allegations of corruption against police officials. He had in the past alleged that drug peddlers and police were working hand in hand in the Puri district.

Acting on a complaint against him, the vigilance officials nabbed Panda red-handed while he was accepting the demanded bribe amount from the complainant. Later raids were conducted raids at two houses of Panda.
