3 Dead As 2 Groups Exchange Fire Over Land Dispute in UP

Lucknow: In a brawl over a property dispute in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district, two groups fired shots at each other, resulting in three deaths and three severe injuries.

The incident occurred late on Wednesday night in Govindpur of the Katka Raman gram panchayat under the Faridipur police limits.

Sardar Paramvir Singh and Devendra Singh are among the dead, while the identity of the third victim is yet to be known, according to the police.

A heavy police force has been stationed in the area to prevent any additional altercations.

A group led by Suresh Singh, a former pradhan of the Raipur Hans gram panchayat, is said to have opened fire first, according to the police.

The three deceased and the former pradhan fought over ownership of roughly 135 bighas of land. The police claimed that the second group fired back in retaliation.
