Visva Bharati Students Plan to Screen BBC Documentary on PM Modi During Rajnath Singh’s Visit

Kolkata: A leftist students group of West Bengal’s Visva Bharati University has planned to screen the controversial BBC documentary- “India; The Modi Question” on Thursday evening on campus. This screening is scheduled to coincide with the visit of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to the Visva Bharati.

The Defence Minister will arrive at Bolpur-Santiniketan late Thursday evening and attend the convocation ceremony scheduled on Friday morning.

Bolpur police have not given any permission for the screening of the documentary. But the students’ group has started campaigning for the screening of the documentary in Bolpur. The students plan to screen the BBC documentary in Ratanpalli Nimtala ghat inside Visva Bharati campus at 6 pm on Thursday.

The documentary was screened earlier at Presidency University and Jadavpur University by the SFI activists, without permission from varsity authorities.
