Watch: Students & Security Guards Clash in Allahabad University,  Stones Thrown, Bike Burnt

Lucknow: Students and security guards clashed on the Allahabad University campus in Uttar Pradesh on Monday evening. Angry students pelted stones at policemen. A bike was torched. Both sides claimed that their members were injured in this violent clash.

For months students of the university are protesting against the fee hike by the university authorities. Violence erupted today when a student leader wanted to visit a bank on the campus. The guard allegedly did not let him enter. This led to a heated quarrel and the situation went turned violent.

According to the local administration, the situation could be pacified. Police officials are holding talks with students to bring back normalcy.
