Wife Murders Husband With Help of Brother-in-Law in Balasore

Balasore: A woman and her brother-law were arrested in connection to a murder committed in the Khaira block of Balasore district on Monday. The arrested woman is the wife of the man, whose body was recovered from a sack floating in a canal on Sunday.

The deceased was Ramesh Das of Niranjanbindha village in Barada panchayat of Khaira block. The arrested duo includes the wife of the deceased Sulochana Das and his younger brother Jitesh Das. Ramesh hails from Berhampur. He was staying with his in-laws in Balasore district.

On May 11, Sulochana and Ramesh had a marital dispute. On the same night, Sulochana is alleged to have slit the throat of Ramesh while he was sleeping. With the help of Jitesh, she disposed of the body in a sack in the canal near Balrampur.

Getting information from locals about the body found in a sack in the canal, Simulia police started an investigation that led to the interrogation of the wife of the deceased. The woman confessed her crime during interrogation. Police arrested both Sulochana and Jitesh.
