“Will Fly BJP Flag on Kumbhalgarh Fort” Declares Godman Dhirendra Shastri; Rajasthan Police Initiates Action

Udaipur: “We aren’t afraid of anyone. We will hoist the BJP flag in Kumbhalgarh Fort,” said self-styled godman and head priest of Bageswar Dham, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, while addressing a religious meeting.

He delivered this provocative statement during a ‘Dharm Sabha’ program held at Gandhi ground in Udaipur on Thursday. Udaipur Police has registered an FIR against the self-styled godman for making this provocative speech and hurting public sentiments. The case was registered at Hathipol police station under Section 153-A of IPC for promoting enmity on grounds of religion.

Meanwhile, five men were arrested in Udaipur’s Kelwara area for attempting to remove flags at a religious place to replace them with saffron ones. The accused were caught while they were trying to remove flags at a religious place near Kumbhalgarh town, police sources said.

Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajasthan, which was targeted by the godman from Bageswar Dham, is a historic monument built by Rana Kumbha in 15th Century AD.
