MiG-21 Fighter Jet Crashes in Rajasthan; 2 Civilians Killed, Pilot Safe

Jaipur: Two civilians died when a MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed near Hanumangarh in Rajasthan on Monday. The pilot of the plane is safe.

According to IAF sources, the fighter jet had taken off from Suratgarh.

A MiG-21 aircraft of the IAF crashed near Suratgarh during a routine training sortie. The pilot ejected safely, sustaining minor injuries. An inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident, said the Air Force sources.

A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan on Monday, leaving at least two civilians dead on the ground, Rajasthan police said. The pilot of the plane is safe, District Collector Rukmani Riar said. The aircraft crashed near Dabli area of Hanumangarh, he added. Local police confirmed death of at least two civilians in the accident.
