IAF’s Tejas Aircraft Crashes for 1st Time in Rajasthan, Pilot Safe

Jaisalmer: During a training flight, a Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed near a student hostel in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Tuesday.

According to NDTV, this is the first crash of the indigenous jet since it first flight 23 years back in 2001.

The pilot ejected safely, the Air Force said. The IAF has ordered an investigation into the incident.

In a message on X, the IAF said, “One Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident at Jaisalmer, today during an operational training sortie. The pilot ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident.”
