Woman Devotee Beaten Up Inside Srimandir; Havildar Suspended

Puri: In yet another shocking incident, a woman devotee was allegedly misbehaved and attacked by a police official in Sri Jagannath Temple of Puri on Monday.

The devotee, identified as Madhuri Das, a resident of Berhampur was allegedly beaten up and she sustained injuries on her head.

Reportedly, the accused police official (havildar) identified as Prashant Dalai has been placed under suspension.

The injured woman was rushed to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical treatment.

It is however worth mentioning that the condition of the injured woman is stable.

The Puri SP said that a probe will be launched to find out the exact reasons that led to the incident.
