Woman Shot Dead by Daughter’s Ex-Boyfriend in Delhi

New Delhi: A 55-year-old woman was shot dead by her daughter’s former boyfriend in North Delhi’s Shastri Nagar.

The deceased identified as Poonam was fired at in the Sarai Rohilla police station area on Wednesday afternoon. Police received a call about this incident at around 4.02 pm.

The police personnel found that Poonam was fatally injured when a youth named Ankit Kaushik fired at her. Ankit, a resident of Sahadara was the ex-boyfriend of her daughter.

Poonam succumbed to her injuries. A case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the assailant,” said the official.

A manhunt has been initiated to nab the accused, who absconded after committing the murder.
