Woman Strangles Infant Daughter To Death In Balasore Village, Held

Balasore: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly strangulating her six-day-old girl at Siyarui village under the Kamarda police station in Balasore district.

According to reports, the matter came to the fore after the villagers noticed the infant missing, they asked the woman, Bandana Patra, about her whereabouts.

On being asked, the woman Bandana reportedly told the villagers that the baby was dragged away by some wild animals on March 5. Finding something fishy, the villagers informed the police about the incident.

On being informed, police registered a case and started an investigation in this regard. Later, the cops recovered the infant’s body from a nearby pond and sent it for post-mortem.

Following this, the police arrested Bandana and sent her to judicial custody.
