Woman’s Body Found in Drum at Railway Stn; 3rd Incident in Bengaluru in 3 Months

Bengaluru: The body of a woman was located inside a drum dumped near the main gate of Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) railway station in Bengaluru.

The deceased female was in her early thirties. Her identity is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a murder case regarding it.

It is the third such recovery of a female body near railway stations in the Bengaluru area. So, suspicion is that there may be some relationship between them and these murders may be the handiwork of some serial killer.

In the second week of December 2022, an unidentified female body was found packed in a sack in a compartment of a passenger train at SMVT station. The body was too decomposed and it was dumped with other luggage.

On January 4, railway police discovered the decomposing body of a young woman inside a blue plastic drum abandoned at the end of platform number 1 at the Yeshwanthpur railway station. Police said the body was bought from Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh and dumped at the railway station.
