World’s largest active volcano erupts in Hawaii of US

World’s largest active volcano Mauna Loa in the Big Island of Hawaii state of America erupted on Sunday night. According to the US Geological Service’s (USGS) volcanic activity service, this eruption triggered a dozen earthquakes of around 2.5 magnitude on the Richter scale.

The eruptions of the volcano began on Sunday night at around 11.30 PM Hawaiian time.

As per a notification, “At this time, lava flows are contained within the summit area and are not threatening downslope communities.”

The volcano alert level was upgraded from an “advisory” to a “warning.”

Residents of the area around the eruption were warned that ash of around a quarter-inch may fall on some areas. Those with respiratory problems were advised to stay indoors. All others were advised to cover their faces when outdoors.
