Kendrapada: Three people were killed in an auto-rickshaw and truck’s head-on collision in the Kendrapada district of Odisha late on Thursday night.
According to reports, Asish Beuria of Jamudanda in the district’s Aali police limits was travelling in an auto-rickshaw with one of his friends to a petrol pump to get petrol from Kendrapada town in the night. Meanwhile, a truck appeared out of nowhere and struck the vehicle head-on at the Jamadhara Chhak under Sadar police limits resulting in the on-spot death of all three people onboard the rickshaw.
The three-wheeler was dragged a long way after the crash. However, the truck driver sped off without stopping.
The police arrived at the spot and recovered the mutilated bodies. They filed a report and sent the remains for an autopsy. According to police sources, a manhunt has been initiated to nab the truck driver.
