Srimandir Natamandap, Jagamohan Repairs to be Completed by April 30: Amicus Curiae to Orissa HC

Cuttack: Amicus Curiae MK Mohanty on Thursday provided an update to the Orissa High Court, stating that repairs to the Natamandap and Jagamohan of Puri Srimandir are expected to be completed by April 30 this year. While verbally communicating this information, the court has directed Mohanty to submit an affidavit within one week.

The next hearing on this matter is scheduled for next week. Mohanty confirmed that the beam design for the repair work has been finalized.

In November 2023, the Orissa High Court expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed restoration of Puri Srimandir Natamandap. Consequently, the court instructed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to commence work from November 16. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) was also directed to provide full cooperation to the ASI in the restoration efforts.

The High Court further mandated that the amicus curiae, in this case, will oversee the repair work and submit progress reports to the court every 15 days.
