Major Fire Engulfs Bank of India Office in Odisha’s Baripada; Rescue Ops On

Baripada: A major fire erupted on Monday at the Bank of India’s zonal office in Baripada, Odisha, sending tremors through the Mayurbhanj district. Thankfully, all personnel trapped inside were safely evacuated.

Initial reports suggest the fire originated from the bank’s canteen, located on the third floor. The flames quickly spread throughout the building, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours, hampered by thick smoke that engulfed the structure.

Three individuals, including a female bank employee, were trapped within the burning building. Thankfully, firefighters successfully rescued them without injuries. Authorities are still determining the total number of people present during the incident and whether anyone else might require assistance.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. A suspected leak from a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder is a primary focus, but officials haven’t confirmed this yet.
