Bereaucratic Reshuffle: Manoj Kumar Sahoo Appointed Deputy Election Commissioner

New Delhi: In a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle that took place on Saturday, the Center named senior IAS officer Manoj Kumar Sahoo as the Deputy Election Commissioner of India.

Born in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, Sahoo is an IAS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, class of 2006.

According to a Personnel Ministry order, Sahoo has been assigned to the position for a tenure of seven years, or until December 16, 2023.

Among other reshuffles, Sanjeet has been named as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Solomon Arokiaraj has been named Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ankita Mishra Bundela will be the Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, and Sujata Sharma will serve as Joint Secretary for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, M Janaki will serve as Additional Secretary for the Central Vigilance Commission, and Puneet Yadav has been named Additional Secretary for the Union Public Service Commission.

Further, Sanjay Roy, an Indian Information Service officer, will serve as Joint Secretary for the Ministry of Steel, and Varsha Sinha, a Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer, has been named Secretary for the Oil Industry Development Board under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
