BJP Releases ‘Chargesheet’ Against BJD Ahead of Twin Elections in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the twin elections in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its campaign by unveiling a ‘chargesheet’ against the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Led by Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal and National Vice-President Baijayant Panda, the party accused the BJD of a myriad of failures spanning its 25-year reign.

Key issues highlighted in the chargesheet include allegations of corruption, inadequate measures for the welfare of citizens, and a lack of employment opportunities.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav lambasted the BJD’s track record, citing failures in agriculture, infrastructure, and women’s safety.

Yadav pointed out discrepancies in the implementation of schemes such as KALIA, intended to benefit farmers, and highlighted the alarming rate of labor migration from the state. He also criticized the BJD for neglecting the education sector, leaving thousands of teaching positions vacant.

Furthermore, the BJP raised concerns about the state’s infrastructure, revealing that thousands of villages lack proper road connectivity.

Yadav also accused the Odisha government of providing electricity to Tamil Nadu at lower rates while charging higher rates to its own consumers.

Manmohan Samal echoed the same, branding the BJD as an anti-farmer and anti-poor administration. He criticized the government’s handling of the chit fund scam and lamented the erosion of democratic values in the state.

Samal stressed the BJP’s commitment to bringing about change in Odisha, promising to address the grievances of the people and restore their faith in governance.
