Alert Bus Helper Rescues Baby Girl Left to Die Under Wheels of Bus in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: In a heart-wrenching incident at Champua bus stand in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, a vigilant private bus helper, identified as Dhabaleshwar, emerged as a hero when he rescued a baby girl concealed in a plastic bag near the bus’s wheels on Sunday night.

During a routine vehicle inspection on that fateful night, Dhabaleshwar discovered the abandoned infant and immediately alerted both local residents and the police. Swiftly responding to the distress call, the police arrived at the scene and expedited the transfer of the baby to the nearby Champur Sub-District Hospital, where she was assessed to be in good health.

Investigations are underway, and it is suspected that the baby’s mother deliberately left her in harm’s way, near the bus wheel, with the sinister intention that the child would be crushed under it when the vehicle commenced its journey. Police are actively engaged in a search operation to locate and apprehend the mother, who is believed to have fled the bus stand.
