East Coast Railway Upgrading Infrastructure and Safety Measures in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) is making significant strides in upgrading infrastructure and safety measures at key railway stations in Odisha. The ongoing projects encompass crucial initiatives like the third line development between Bhubaneswar and Mancheswar. These undertakings, scheduled from August 17 to August 30, 2023, involve substantial changes in the Mancheswar station’s layout and a major signalling system overhaul at Bhubaneswar and Mancheswar stations.

Around 25 daily trains originating or traversing this route have been temporarily cancelled to facilitate the project’s progress. The eagerly awaited commissioning of the third line between Barang and Khurda Road rail line has recently taken place. Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection and sanction paved the way for this vital track linkage, enhancing safety and train movement efficiency.

The focus of these endeavours extends to ensuring smoother train services for passengers travelling between Barang and Khurda Road. The meticulous planning considers daily passenger needs, minimizing disruptions. Completion of these projects will alleviate bottleneck concerns in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda Road, streamlining train operations.

ECoR has proactively communicated the temporary cancellation and partial cancellation of trains, well in advance of the actual dates, utilizing platforms like social media. Passengers are urged to review these details before planning their journeys, contributing to hassle-free travel experiences.
