Holy Trinity’s Adapa Abhada Available From Today

Puri: After two days on their chariots, the Holy Trinity- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra were taken to the altar of their birth place called Adapa Mandap in Gundicha temple.

According to rituals, Adapa Abhada is offered to the Trinity on the very next day of their arrival on the Adop Mandap, also known as Janmabedi, in the annual Rath Yatra.

This morning, usual rituals like Mangalalati, Mailama, Abakash niti and Tadaplagi were conducted and thereafter Sakala Dhupa was conducted. During Sakala Dhupa, Khechudi Bhog was offered to the Chaturdhamurari, according to information.

The holy Adapa Abhada is likely to be offered to the Trinity in a few hours. A token system has been made to provide Adop Abhada to devotees outside the Shreegundicah Temple at affordable prices. Two counters, one at Bus stand and another at the North Gate of the Shreemandir have opened for the purpose.

Notably, Raja Balabhadra, Maa Subhadra and Mahaprabhu Jagannath arrived at the Shreegundicha Temple on a nine-day annual sojourn by their respective Raths- Taladhwaja, Darpadalana and Nandighosh on Wednesday. They will spend seven days on Adapa Mandap and then make the return sojourn, called Bahuda Yatra.
