Konark Likely To Be A G20 Meeting Venue: CM Naveen

New Delhi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik embarked on a 1-day New Delhi tour on Monday to attend the meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss India’s G20 presidency.

CM Naveen. While interacting with the media in Delhi today, reiterated the potential prospects of Konark being a venue for one of the G20 meetings.

India will occupy the G20 presidency from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. During this time, 200 meetings on 32 sectors will be organised at various venues all throughout India. According to sources, one of five significant meetings focusing on the “cultural track” may take place at the Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha, during India’s G20 Presidency.

The all-party meeting has been called to discuss and finalise tactics for the summit, which India will host in September next year. The G20 Leaders’ Summit,  to be attended by heads of state or government, is slated to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10, 2023.

The meeting is scheduled to be held from 5 PM to 6:30 PM in the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Cultural Center and will be attended by the heads and representatives of around 40 political parties. The Prime Minister is anticipated to brief them on the year-long initiatives designed to highlight New Delhi’s plans prior to the crucial G20 summit. S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, is also expected to attend this meeting.
