Notorious Criminal Bablu Mahanand Arrested In 2018 Murder Case

Bolangir: A most wanted criminal was arrested from the Bolangir district of Odisha on Tuesday in connection to a murder case. The dreaded criminal has been identified by Bablu Mahanand.

According to reports, the criminal has been arrested in relation to the Shastri Nagar businessman hacking case.

Reportedly, Bablu was accused of operating an illegal gambling den, dacoity and loot.

The incident occurred when some anti-socials had assembled near the dhaba, on August 29, 2018. A fight broke out between Bablu’s gang members and some businessmen there. The verbal altercation took an ugly turn when Mahananda picked up a revolver and fired four rounds.

The bullets hit Dillip Patnaik of Rameshwar Nagar and he died at VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) during treatment.

While two accused were arrested before, Bablu remained absconding since then. Meanwhile, Bolangir police has taken the criminal on a two-day remand.
