Bhubaneswar’s Baramunda ISBT to Get Dedicated Police Outpost for Passenger Safety

Bhubaneswar: The soon-to-be-launched Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal in Bhubaneswar will have a dedicated police outpost to ensure passenger safety and security. This decision comes as the construction of the terminal nears completion under the state’s 5T initiative.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, following a proposal from 5T Chairman VK Pandian during his inspection visits to the terminal.

With the terminal set to accommodate 700 to 800 buses daily initially, with potential future expansion to 1700 to 1800 buses, passenger traffic is estimated to reach 35,000 to 45,000 individuals daily. Recognizing the necessity for robust security measures, the need for a police outpost at the terminal was highlighted.

The outpost will be staffed by 89 police personnel, comprising 2 sub-inspectors, 9 assistant sub-inspectors, 4 habildars, 72 constables, and 2 drivers.

This dedicated team will ensure the safety of passengers and the smooth functioning of the terminal, which will offer various amenities including a restaurant, ample parking, food centers, and supermarkets.
