Angul: 12-Year-Old Critical After Being Branded with Hot Iron by Father for Skipping School

Angul: In a shocking incident that has sent shock waves throughout Odisha’s Angul, a 12-year-old boy is in critical condition, allegedly branded with a hot iron by his own father for skipping school.

The distressing episode, which occurred in Chhendipada, highlights the cruelty inflicted on the child, with reports suggesting that the father, Subhash Pradhan, subjected his son to repeated torture, often instigated by his second wife.

This isn’t the first time the young boy has faced such abuse from his father and stepmother. The severity of the situation came to light when the boy’s grandmother shared the horrifying details with local villagers, who promptly alerted Childline officials.

Upon receiving the information, Childline officials acted swiftly, rescuing the minor from the dire circumstances. In response, Chhendipada Police have detained both Subhash Pradhan and his second wife for their alleged involvement in the heinous act.
